Centralized Vision Camera Monitoring Catches Copper Theft Criminals
Centralized Vision’s real-time monitoring for one of its clients assisted in apprehending two copper thieves removing materials from a facility. In this video, two men walk along the fence line to the property, with a man wearing a green shirt in camera view on the property throws copper items over the fence. Shortly after, the other man wearing a white shirt begins to place the copper items in a bag while the man in the green shirt continues to throw the items over the fence. While this was occurring on video, a Centralized Vision technician alerted local law enforcement authorities. Although it is not the video, the police arrived and apprehended the two suspects.
Naked Man Caught on Video Surveillance While Trespassing at Phoenix Shopping Center
Centralized Vision’s video monitoring technician immediately alerted the Phoenix Police Department after noticing from a surveillance camera that a white male was trespassing in a fenced-off area on the property of the West Highland Shopping Center in west Phoenix during the evening on October 9. After going behind a trash dumpster on the property, the white male proceeded to remove his clothes until he was naked and appeared to be looking at a magazine. A Phoenix Police vehicle can be seen in the background midway through the video while the male trespasser maneuvers around the trash dumpster. Phoenix Police also dispatched a helicopter to the scene as bright lights can be seen shining on the suspect while he hides behind the dumpster. The male was able to put a few items of his clothing back on and then was seen walking out of the view of the camera monitoring the scene as a police car arrives near the trash dumpster.
Phoenix Fox TV Station Profiles Centralized Vision About Video Monitoring at Medical Marijuana Dispensaries
FOX 10 News | fox10phoenix.com
Following a shooting at a medical marijuana dispensary in Tempe, Ariz. on Oct. 25 that left an employee hospitalized with life-threatening injuries while three male suspects were still on the loose, Phoenix Fox affiliate KSAZ-TV (Ch. 10) talked to Centralized Vision President Tom Vigilante, Jr. about how real-time video monitoring could help prevent similar crimes at other dispensaries throughout Arizona. Fox 10 news anchor John Hook reported it is violence like what happened in Tempe that opponents of medical marijuana have been warning people about from the beginning. Hook stated that Arizona law requires dispensaries to have security, but some are wondering if it is enough? In the segment that ran during the station’s 9 p.m. newscast on Oct. 26, Vigilante said medical marijuana dispensaries “are a cash-rich environment, not to mention an environment with a lot of marijuana.” Although nobody can totally prevent someone from attempting to rob a dispensary, Hook stated that advance security systems like the services offered by Centralized Vision can help track down criminals or serve as a deterrent to prevent crimes. “The goal is to get (the suspects) in the moment so we don’t even get that far,” Vigilante said. “A panic button might also come into play to where if a person feels threatened they can simply press a button, which can be monitored or received on our end by one of our operators. Combine that with live-feed video and the ability to look in in real time, you have a very powerful solution that increases the likelihood of capturing would-be offenders, thieves or criminals in those types of environments.”
Phoenix TV Station Discusses Surveillance Cameras with Centralized Vision After Boston Marathon Bombing
With the FBI and Boston Police Department reviewing every photo and piece of video footage they can gather from the Boston Marathon bombing tragedy on April 15, 3TV television reporter Jared Dillingham looked into the increasing role of surveillance camera video and how it is being used in solving various crimes. Dillingham interviewed Centralized Vision President and Founder Tom Vigilante Jr. about how the Phoenix metropolitan area is increasingly being monitored by more video security systems. Centralized Vision recently expanded its video monitoring service center in Central Phoenix after growing its client base by 30 percent in 2012. “It’s pretty safe to say that somewhere somehow you are being watched,” Vigilante told Dillingham. The real-time video verification services provided on the more than 5,000 cameras Centralized Vision monitors in the Phoenix area has helped local police departments make a couple of arrests each month to protect its clients’ assets. “Improving technology, dropping costs and improving crime fighting are giving more birds’ eye views of everything we do,” Dillingham said in the segment. Hopefully, the presence of security cameras at large public gatherings, sporting events and office buildings will deter criminals from committing these devastating acts of violence in the future. Because of technology and enhanced communications methods, it is nearly certain they will be brought to justice.
